Fantasy Football Write Up: 2020 Week 4

Starting with the weekly payout: Highest Scoring Defense. Todd’s Rams score 11 and it’s good enough to win him some money.

Matt vs. Max. Initial projections had this as a tight matchup. Matt’s unstoppable Chris Carson recovers from a knee injury last week and undergoes concussion protocol at halftime still managing to outscore Max’s Russell Wilson. The Cowboys have adopted a play-from-behind mindset which sucks for them but works out for fantasy. Real joke of a game. Matt had secured the win by Sunday night and by the time the Monday Night Double Header rolled around Max was already dead. Matt 155.28 – Max 89.60

Trav vs. Cheadle. Cheadle’s Mark Andrews siphons Trav’s Lamar Jackson on Sunday, while Cheadle pulls ahead. Going into Monday Night, hope was high for the Trojans but a quiet game for all of his players. One thing to note: Cheadle is the only team to actively be starting 2 QBs. He chose wrong this week but still lucked his way to a victory. How will Cheadle’s decision making improve going forward. The old saying goes “you can’t keep your eye on the ball with 2 dangling in front of you.” Cheadle 115.82 – Trav 85.82

Brent vs. Ben. Projections were high and evenly matched for these teams at 128 points. Brent’s team shows up for a clinical performance. Ben, however, achieves half of his projected points. Calvin Ridley fell off, Nicholas Chubbinsky is out for weeks along with Austin Ekeler. More RBs down this week and the waiver will be scrambling for any news of a healthy starting back. Brent 133.64 – Ben 64.90

Chad vs. JJ. The closest matchup of the week. That’s not saying much but it’s enough to keep Chad out of the bottom rung of the league. Chad leaves a TON of points on the bench and JJ is just doing his best out there. Both teams have the blueprint for making it to playoffs but can they follow through? Chad 106.84 – JJ 100.32

Drott The Boner vs. Todd The Undertaker. Drott, for the second week in a row has a starting player get 0 points. But Josh Allen is the truth and Joe Mixon punches his way into the endzone 3 times. The Undertaker had George Kittle pop off but the Pit-Ten surprise BYE week was too much to overcome. Todd is left still laying in his coffin. Drott 141.02 – Todd 96.70

Standings at the end of Week 4

Matt takes the top spot for the first time ever and Brent is sitting pretty while hoarding his FAB points. Quick note: Despite a lot of complaining about Chad’s exploitation of Yahoo’s transaction methodology, Trav has more transactions on the year.

Those teams healthy enough to field a full team are feeling indestructible but anything can happen week to week.

Next week, the payout will go to the Highest Scoring QB. A lot of noise has been made regarding the weekly payout. Some teams who can’t score more than 100 are saying we should move to a Highest Team Score every week payout. Others actually just want to have fun. Who’s correct? Sound off in the comments below.
